XI All India English Teachers’
Annual Conference and III World Conference, hosted by Madras Christian
College, Chennai, an autonomous and prestigious institution of India, on the
theme of Environment and Literary Studies on December 20 and 21 2004.
The conference was organized by Prof. Victor S. Frederick, HOD of English
and Dr. Nirmal Selvamony of MCC and presided over by Prof. Sheobhushan
Shukla. Besides delegates from various parts of the country it was
also attended by a large number of foreign delegates. The keynote
address was delivered by Prof. Scott Slovic, a distinguished professor of
Literature and Environment at the University of Nevada, Reno, U.S.A. 2003

MEMBERSHIP |
The membership is open to scholars, critics, teachers of English, theorists,
creative writers and all those who are interested in the study and promotion
of contemporary literature. The life membership of the association, which is
subject to revision from time to time, is Rs. 5000=00. The life membership
for foreign members if $550 (US Dollar). The annual membership is
communicated with the information about the holding of the annual
conference.
MEMBERSHIP OF THE JOURNAL ― STUDIES IN CONTEMPORARY LITERATURE
The life membership of the journal is at
present Rs. 7000=00 (US Dollar $650). It entitles a person to a free copy of
the journal by ordinary post and to holding positions in the Journal and the
Association.
ATTENTION
The life membership of the journal Studies in Contemporary Literature
enables a person to get priority in the publication of the paper/article as
well as help and guidance in writing it if needed. The life membership of
the journal as well as that of the association (SCL & IASCL) also enables a
person to get help in getting their books published and top priority in
publication of their article/paper. The life membership of SCL/IASCL can be
sent in two equal installments.
